About / Joshua Abegglen
Leadership didn’t cure me of wanting to build things.
I work across senior technology leadership, operations and strategy. I still genuinely enjoy the engineering: understanding systems, making them observable and fixing the odd behaviour nobody ordered.
By day
Technology leadership, infrastructure, operations and strategy.
My experience spans IT operations, networks, cybersecurity, service delivery, projects, consultancy, infrastructure, automation and AI. I have moved progressively into leadership without losing interest in how the systems actually work.
After hours
Home Assistant, servers, networks and whatever I’m currently trying not to break.
The lab is where I can follow a question all the way down: from the outcome, through the architecture and automation, to the cable, sensor or state mismatch underneath it.
Why this site exists
A public memory for work worth understanding.
joshbox.me is a project journal rather than a polished trophy cabinet. Running systems, unfinished builds, wrong turns and small notes all belong here if the reasoning is useful.
The site also includes a small number of anonymised professional examples. They distinguish my contribution from wider team delivery and deliberately exclude identifying or security-sensitive information.
Publishing boundaries
Explain the engineering. Don’t publish the attack surface.
- No credentials, tokens or identifiers
- No private addressing or management paths
- No detailed camera or physical-security coverage
- No identifiable client or employer systems
